Renewable energy private equity
Access to adequate energy supply is tantamount to economic growth in the developing markets. Approximately 1.3 billion people in developing countries lack access to electricity. USD 16.5 trillion is required from 2015 to 2030 to reorient the global energy system to achieve the COP21 (United Nations Climate Change Conference) 2°C goal.
Supporting renewable energy projects
responsAbility Renewable Energy Private Equity supports the required transformation by managing private equity energy investments and developing renewable energy projects across developing countries.
Investments are primarily in small utility scale (up to 50 MW) renewable energy production projects, from developing and building to operating hydro and photovoltaic power plants.
Distributed solar and off grid energy access will be added to the portfolio.
Investments are currently focused on Sub-Saharan Africa but will be diversified globally and across the full spectrum of technologies as well as project stages.
