responsAbility supports Credins Bank with EUR 15 million MREL-eligible financing in Albania
Zurich / Tirana, 3 June 2026 – responsAbility Investments AG has provided a EUR 15 million, four-year MREL-eligible financing facility to Credins Bank, marking responsAbility’s first MREL transaction in Albania.
The EUR 15 million financing supports Credins Bank in meeting evolving regulatory requirements related to Minimum Requirement for Own Funds and Eligible Liabilities (MREL), while further strengthening the bank’s resilience and long-term funding structure. Strong and resilient financial institutions play an important role in maintaining access to financing for households and businesses and supporting sustainable economic development in Albania.
Founded in 2003 in Tirana, Credins Bank is one of Albania’s leading commercial banks and the country’s first bank established with entirely Albanian capital. The bank currently holds the largest market share in net loans and ranks among the country’s largest banks by total assets. Credins provides a full range of retail, SME, corporate, and treasury banking services.
The transaction reflects the increasing importance of MREL-compliant financing instruments across the Albanian banking sector as financial institutions continue aligning with enhanced regulatory and resolution frameworks.
