responsAbility supports Nafoods in expanding sustainable fruit processing in Vietnam
Nghean/Zurich, 23 September 2025 – responsAbility Investments AG, a leading Swiss impact asset manager, has provided financing to Nafoods Group JSC, one of Southeast Asia’s leading fruit processing and export companies. The partnership will support the company in strengthening its core business and advancing its medium- to long-term growth strategy with a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and resilience in global supply chains.
Headquartered in Vietnam, Nafoods is a vertically integrated agribusiness that operates across the entire fruit value chain from agricultural production and processing to international distribution1. Its product portfolio includes not-from-concentrate (NFC) juices, purées, concentrates, individually quick frozen (IQF) fruits, dried fruits, and fresh fruit. Key processed fruits include passion fruit, dragon fruit, mango, kumquat and lychee. Nafoods serves customers in over 70 countries and works closely with local smallholder farmers to deliver fully traceable, high-quality products based on sustainable farming practices. As part of this support, Nafoods distributes disease-free passion fruit seedlings bred in its own nurseries, covering approximately 60% of the Vietnamese market for passion fruit seedlings.

The financing provided by responsAbility will be used to finance both working capital as well as capital expenditure for the increase in processing capacity. The transaction is aligned with responsAbility’s investment mandate to promote sustainable food systems in emerging markets, reduce post-harvest losses, and support climate-resilient business models in the agriculture sector.

Nguyen Manh Hung, CEO of Nafoods Group, said: “This investment is an important source of additional capital, enabling us to be more proactive in capturing business opportunities and implementing the Group’s medium- to long-term growth strategy. The partnership with responsAbility not only provides financial resources but also reaffirms confidence in Nafoods’ sustainable vision. Impact-led investment strategy with defined impact pathways
The financing is part of responsAbility’s climate-focused strategy, which invests in businesses that drive the sustainable transformation of agricultural and food systems. The goal is to promote more productive, resource-efficient, and climate-resilient farming models with measurable benefits for smallholders, ecosystems, and food security.
